Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to the supply of waste management services by NatWaste Limited, including skip hire, waste collection, disposal services, and related waste management solutions.
By requesting a service from NatWaste Limited, the customer agrees to these Terms & Conditions. In addition, these conditions apply to all services supplied directly by NatWaste Limited or through authorised agents, suppliers, subcontractors, or service partners.
Definitions In these Terms & Conditions:
“NatWaste”, “we”, “us” or “the provider” means NatWaste Limited.
“The customer” or “the hirer” means the person, company, or organisation requesting the service.
“The service” means the supply of waste management services, including skip hire, waste collection, disposal, transport, or related services.
“The site” means the location where a skip, container, or other service is delivered or carried out.
Service Provision
NatWaste will use reasonable efforts to provide services in line with customer requirements. However, service times and dates may be affected by traffic, weather, supplier availability, site access, permits, operational issues, or other circumstances outside our control.
Therefore, time shall not be treated as essential unless agreed in writing.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers must ensure that suitable access is available for delivery and collection vehicles. This includes checking site access, road conditions, ground conditions, height restrictions, parking restrictions, gates, manholes, drains, cables, and any other obstruction or risk.
Where a vehicle is requested to leave the public highway, the customer accepts responsibility for any damage to driveways, paving, kerbs, drains, private roads, yards, or similar surfaces, except where damage is caused by negligent driving.
In addition, the customer must ensure that an authorised person is available to provide instructions where required.
Permits and Highway Requirements
Where a skip is placed on a public highway, road, verge, or other public land, the customer must ensure that all necessary permissions and permits are obtained before delivery.
Furthermore, skips placed on the highway may require lights, cones, markings, and other safety measures in line with local authority requirements.
NatWaste may assist with arranging permits where available. However, responsibility for compliance remains with the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Skip Loading and Prohibited Waste
Customers must ensure that skips and containers are loaded safely and correctly.
For example, skips must not be filled above the permitted level. Waste must not overhang the sides and must remain safe for transport.
The following items must not be placed in skips unless agreed in writing:
– Asbestos
– Fridges or freezers
– Tyres
– Batteries
– Paints, solvents, oils, or liquids
– Gas bottles
– Explosives or flammable materials
– Clinical or medical waste
– Hazardous chemicals
– Toxic or noxious substances
– Any waste requiring specialist handling
If prohibited or incorrectly described waste is placed in a skip or container, additional charges may apply.
Waste Description and Classification
The customer is responsible for accurately describing the waste type at the time of booking.
If the waste differs from the description provided, NatWaste reserves the right to amend charges to reflect the correct waste type, disposal route, landfill tax rate, or specialist handling requirement.
Where required, customers must also complete or sign waste transfer notes, consignment notes, or other documentation accurately.
Charges, Payment and Credit Accounts
Prices are agreed at the time of booking or quotation and are subject to VAT where applicable.
Unless the customer has an approved credit account, payment may be required before service delivery.
For approved credit accounts, invoices are payable in line with the agreed account terms. Furthermore, NatWaste reserves the right to suspend services, withdraw credit terms, charge interest, or recover costs where invoices are not paid on time.
Waiting Time and Failed Access
Customers must ensure access is available when the vehicle arrives.
If a vehicle is delayed because of blocked access, unavailable staff, unsuitable site conditions, or customer-related issues, waiting time or aborted delivery charges may apply.
In addition, waiting time charges may also apply to wait-and-load services where the agreed loading period is exceeded.
Damage, Loss and Liability
Once a skip or container has been delivered, responsibility for it remains with the customer until collection.
The customer is responsible for loss, theft, vandalism, fire damage, overloading, unauthorised movement, or misuse of the skip or container during the hire period.
However, NatWaste shall not be liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, delays, or consequential losses arising from the supply of services, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Hire Period and Collection
The standard hire period will be confirmed at the time of booking. Additional charges may apply if the hire period is exceeded.
The customer must notify NatWaste when the skip or container is ready for collection. In addition, a clear and safe collection area must be available.
Where required, NatWaste may arrange removal or repositioning following instructions from a local authority, police officer, highway authority, or other relevant body. Therefore, any reasonable additional costs may be passed to the customer.
Compliance and Duty of Care
NatWaste is committed to responsible and compliant waste management.
Customers must comply with all relevant waste legislation, including Duty of Care requirements. As a result, waste must be stored, described, transferred, and disposed of correctly.
NatWaste may use licensed suppliers, waste carriers, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and disposal sites to fulfil services.
Force Majeure
NatWaste shall not be liable for delay or failure to provide services where this is caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control.
This may include severe weather, accidents, traffic disruption, industrial action, fuel shortages, equipment failure, supplier issues, power failure, system failure, or other unforeseen events outside our control.
Data Protection
NatWaste may collect and process customer and supplier information where necessary to provide services, manage accounts, process payments, issue documentation, and comply with legal obligations.
